Dr Qurban Hussain Khan is a cardiac electrophysiologist, Assistant Professor, clinical supervisor, examiner, and healthcare administrator based in Rawalpindi, Pakistan. He currently serves as Medical Superintendent and Assistant Professor of Cardiac Electrophysiology at the Rawalpindi Institute of Cardiology, one of Pakistan’s major tertiary care cardiac centres.
He received his medical degree from the University of Southampton, United Kingdom, and completed postgraduate specialist training in Cardiology and Clinical Cardiac Electrophysiology. His clinical work focuses on the diagnosis and management of heart rhythm disorders, including palpitations, supraventricular tachycardia, atrial fibrillation, syncope, bradyarrhythmias, and complex arrhythmia evaluation. He has specialist experience in electrophysiology studies, radiofrequency ablation, pacemaker implantation, ICD therapy, and cardiac device follow-up.
Alongside his clinical practice, Dr Khan is actively involved in postgraduate medical education, academic supervision, clinical governance, and institutional leadership. As Medical Superintendent of Rawalpindi Institute of Cardiology, his work includes hospital operations, patient safety, quality improvement, infection prevention, emergency preparedness, service coordination, and strengthening systems for high-volume cardiac care.
Dr Khan has contributed to national cardiac electrophysiology training and professional development in Pakistan. He serves as a clinical supervisor and examiner for postgraduate electrophysiology training and remains actively engaged in teaching, research, public education, and cardiovascular service development.
His professional interests include cardiac electrophysiology, arrhythmia management, device therapy, hospital leadership, healthcare quality improvement, patient safety, and systems transformation in cardiovascular care.
