Dr Qurban Hussain Khan elected Fellow Heart Rhythm Society
Dr Qurban Hussain Khan has been elected a Fellow of the Heart Rhythm Society and is now entitled to use the professional designation FHRS.
The fellowship represents an important international professional recognition of his work and commitment in the field of cardiac electrophysiology. Dr Khan is a consultant cardiologist and cardiac electrophysiologist with specialist qualifications in both Cardiology and Clinical Cardiac Electrophysiology.
His clinical, academic, and leadership work includes arrhythmia care, cardiac device therapy, electrophysiology education, specialist training, institutional development, and the advancement of cardiac electrophysiology services in Pakistan.

Dr Qurban Hussain Khan, cardiologist, cardiac electrophysiologist and Medical Superintendent at Rawalpindi Institute of Cardiology, delivered his first international scientific presentation at Heart Nexus 2026 in Tashkent, Uzbekistan.
His lecture, “Sematide — A Pathway to Comprehensive Metabolic Care with Evidence,” examined the evidence surrounding semaglutide in contemporary cardiometabolic care, including the BIOSURE study in routine clinical practice in Pakistan. Delivered before an audience of senior doctors, the presentation formed part of a scientific programme addressing developments in cardiovascular and metabolic medicine.
The occasion held particular personal significance when Maj Gen (Retd) Asif Ali Khan, a distinguished cardiac surgeon and a mentor under whom Dr Khan previously worked at Bahria International Hospital, presented him with a commemorative souvenir.
The engagement marked an important milestone in Dr Khan’s academic journey, building on his longstanding involvement in postgraduate medical education, clinical workshops and invited scientific presentations across Pakistan.
